When I scan a slab, the app reads the label but doesn't seem to give me a centering ratio. Is that a limitation, or am I doing it wrong? Mostly PSA and CGC slabs, if that matters. I'd rather not crack anything just to check.

When Lookup recognizes a slab it reads the label (PSA, BGS, CGC or TAG and the grade) and prices the card at that grade on the value ladder, and it does not report a measured ratio, because measuring through the case is unreliable: the plastic refracts, the label and inner sleeve add edges, and glare on the case sits on exactly the border you need. A number produced that way would look precise and be off by a percent or two, which is the whole difference between a 10 and a 9.
What works: if the seller has raw photos or scans from before slabbing, run those. Otherwise use the label as the primary information (BGS prints the centering subgrade; TAG prints the measured centering), and eyeball the estimate as a sanity check.
If you want the number anyway, you can override and place the boxes by hand on a slab photo, but treat it as a rough guide, not something to base a premium on.
